Colour Maze invites children into a kaleidoscopic wonderland of colour, creativity and imaginative play. Inspired by the vibrant "Tongpop" aesthetic of visual artist Telly Tuita, this immersive experience transforms visual art into an interactive adventure, encouraging exploration, discovery and self-expression.
Across ten colourful rooms, visitors weave their way through a series of playful environments featuring building blocks, swings, knitted playgrounds and hands-on creative activities. Along the journey, children are invited to create, craft and play, engaging with sticker activities and artistic elements inspired by Tongan motifs and cultural storytelling.
Drawing from Tuita’s Polynesian diasporic experience, Colour Maze celebrates the power of colour, memory and identity. Through vivid hues, nostalgic references and playful forms, the installation reflects connections to homeland, community and imagination, creating a joyful space where creativity comes to life.
Blending art, play and participation, Colour Maze transforms every turn into a new discovery, inviting children and families to immerse themselves in a vibrant world of wonder and creative possibility.
