Harnessing the power of storytelling and collaboration, we envision a world where art is democratised, universally accessible, and fosters a vibrant narrative of unity and shared humanity.

Amigo & Amigo is a Sydney-based studio specialising in the creation of permanent and temporary large-scale public artworks. Since our founding in 2012, we’ve been driven by a passion for transforming everyday spaces into playful, interactive environments that spark wonder, joy, and connection.
Our journey began with a deep curiosity for how people move through public space - and how light, sound, and storytelling can be used to create shared moments of surprise and delight. What started as a small team of makers and designers has grown into a multidisciplinary studio, with in-house expertise across industrial design, electrical engineering, lighting, fabrication, and project management.
Over the past decade, we’ve successfully delivered more than 300 projects around the world, each one guided by a commitment to quality, innovation, and emotional connection. Our work is known for its ability to engage audiences through narrative and physical interaction - inviting not just observation, but participation.
Some key highlights of our career include special commissions for major institutions like The Science Museum London and Eurovision, and recurring invitations to exhibit at international light festivals such as Vivid Sydney (Australia), Lights On Stratford (Canada), i Light Singapore, River of Light (England), Lumino (Canada), Doha Light Festival (Qatar), and many others. These opportunities have allowed us to collaborate with diverse communities across continents and climates, adapting our designs to unique cultural contexts while maintaining a universal appeal.
Our approach combines cutting-edge technology with human-centered design, aiming to create artworks that are not just visually striking but deeply felt. Whether it's a glowing dandelion that reacts to touch or an interactive bonfire powered by seesaws, our works invite people of all ages to stop, engage, and rediscover the magic of public space.
Fuelled by empathy and a belief in art as a tool for connection, Amigo & Amigo has become a go-to studio for large-scale, interactive public artworks that resonate across generations and geographies.

Amigo & Amigo is not only a business but stands as a creative movement. Elevating interactive art beyond convention, we embark on a new stage of collaborative storytelling.
With a decade plus of mastery, our evolving collective welcomes challenges, partnerships, and community involvement.
Our unique blend of purpose-driven design, collaborative teamwork, and genuine relationships sets us apart — creating not just art installations but a sustainable, diverse, and empathetic family.
We are reshaping our industry and fostering a culture of positive impact.
Creative Advocacy Partnership (CAP) is a group of Australian advocates, artists and designers who use creative practice to influence positive change. CAP is dedicated to transforming advocacy through creative practice, employing art, design, and storytelling to bring both heart and humanity to their work.
This approach goes beyond traditional advocacy by fostering deeper connections with the communities they support and driving meaningful change through innovative expression.
As a founding member of CAP, and the director of Amigo & Amigo, Simone Chua is instrumental in advancing CAP’s mission to ensure that marginalised voices are not only heard but celebrated and acted upon.
Simone and her team are proud to be involved with CAP.
