Creating works that capture people’s imaginations

We create experiences for humans so they can feel more human. Researching humans we discovered that in general they have five holes through which they feel; eyes, ears, noses, tongues & fingers. So as a collective of designers & artists we explore ways to exploit these feely holes in order to make what we call … “Art that makes sense”. Our Logo is both an extension on this philosophy, and an actual photograph of the Amigos working…

Simone Chua

Director

Born in Sydney, Australia with Australian Chinese heritage. Her mother is Australian, while her father immigrated from Singapore in 1968. Growing up with a Chinese father, Simone was heavily influenced by Chinese food philosophy and traditions. She is an internationally exhibiting contemporary installation artist. At the core of her work is the simple idea of capturing audience imagination and bringing people together in public spaces. Simone is founder of the design studio Amigo & Amigo.

Adela Lines

Art Director

Adela Lines grew up in a small Spanish island in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, Mallorca. Moving to Barcelona to study Industrial Design and then adventuring to Sydney 8 years ago. Adela and Simone met in 2013 and started working together on projects while she was studying Live Production and Management for theatre and events, but the Amigo gravity was too great.

Mauricio Echeverry

Lighting Designer

Been helping the amigos for the past 4 years, have helped create complex geometrical designs, co-work in developing concepts and always bringing a smile to the studio. An 80’s child from South America, nature lover, with a keen interest in geometry, sustainability, and jewellery.

Favorite hobbies include going to live music, collecting vintage records and being mesmerized by heavy machinery.
