SYDMONAUTS

Amigo & Amigo designed eleven x 3 metre tall astronauts, inspired by the sense of immense scale of outer space. The number of astronauts reflects a selection of diverse and underappreciated heroes of the space age. These astronauts are posed in various ways that interact with their location, playfully suggesting notions of alien life and environments. The aesthetic of the astronauts was inspired by low poly art, a popular style of three-dimension digital art. This geometric style is used in architecture and design to impart a futuristic look to objects.
